Ready for the weekend!

So far so good for this weekend!  Last night (Friday) I got certified to teach aqua at the gym...woo woo!  Water aerobics...always fun!  Let me just say there were some intense ladies!  After that I went an got an AMAZING pita at extreme pita.  They guy that worked there thought I was crazy for stuffing that thing with so many veggies.  I told him, "Hey I am a vegetarian who loves my vegetables!"  After that my mom and a few other ladies went and saw "Nights in Rodanthe"...not what I expected unfortunately.  I love Nicholas Sparks...but this one was a bit of a dud.  Oh well!

Today (Saturday) I got my hair highlighted...the blonder the better!  Then I saw the movie "Fireproof".  It was a good Christian movie with a great message about the difficulties of marriage.  Some parts were a little corny, but overall the message was good.  Funny thing...I hardly ever go to movies and then I was invited to two this weekend!  Anyway...tonight I am going dancing at In Cahoots-Line Dancing!!  Wahoo!!  I do not have any idea how to line dance but a group of us are going and I am sure it will be a blast!

Tomorrow is going to be a mellow day...whew!  I am training my men's group in the morning and then catching up on homework.  I sing tomorrow night at church and have my new small group.  It should be fun!  Good weekend...and then back to the books on Monday!  I hope all of you reading this are having a good weekend as well!  Peace and Love!!

Time for an update!

Hello all.  It has been a crazy past few weeks with school, work, and friends!  Lots to do.  I was at church two weeks ago and we had a guest Pastor.  He said,"It the devil can't make you bad, he will make you busy."  That is so true!  We need to slow down sometimes so we can focus on the truly important things in life: faith, family, friends, just relationships in general!  Anyway, I will get off my high horse!

A little update on the last few weeks...school has been occupying most of my time!  Taking so many units has got me stuck on the books!  It has been fun though.  I am enjoying my classes (well most of them!) and am excited to have some great friends in my classes.  I am also working a little bit teaching classes and doing personal training.  I love it still!  I guess that is a good thing!

My mom and I just started Community Bible Study (CBS) today and that is every Thursday morning.  I did it last year and loved it!  I convinced her to do it with me and I am really excited!  We are reading through the Gospel of Luke so I will keep you posted on how that goes!  I am also still singing at my church every so often.  I am also helping with a program to mentor high school students called Life of Christ.  I am pretty excited about that!

On the family notes...my sister just got the lead in her high school play "South Pacific" which is in November!  We are all very excited and proud of her.  My brother is in school at Santa Barbara City College and living with a friend from high school.  My mom just celebrated her birthday and is still working at Anthropology.  My dad has been traveling a bit to Seattle for work and is enjoying what he is doing.

I think that is all for now...until next time!!

Fun with the Fraenkel's!!

On Wednesday night my friend Vanessa Fraenkel and her family came in town from Minnesota.  I picked them up from the airport and she came back to my house with me.  I moved from MN to CA 10 years now.  This is the first time Vanessa has made it to Cali I was really excited!  I dropped her parents and brother off at their hotel in Mission Bay and brought her back to my parents house with me.  After looking through old photo albums and laughing hysterically, she spent the night and we woke up to go to spin class the next morning.  I was excited to kick her butt!!  That night her family came over for dinner and so did our other friend Andrew, who is from MN as well and grew up with us.  He is at SDSU now so it was fun for all of us to get together.  Vanessa's family has been in town for a wedding, so it has been busy but we have had a blast the past few days!  Today I met up with them at La Jolla Shores and we grabbed lunch together after they went kayaking.  I love my Minnesota friends so it was great to have her come visit me!  For all of you MN girls and guys reading this...you better come visit me!  I promise we will have a blast!!
